GT World Challenge AsiaWorking with Triple Eight Race Engineering, 2019 was our first season in the GT World Challenge Asia. I have been engineering Car888 which is driven by by HH Prince Abdul Rahman Ibrahim, Jazeman Jaafar and Shane van Gisbergen.
After reentering the series after COIVD in 2022 I engineered the Mercedes AMG GT3 car that won the Championship in that year. |
The Australian Supercars ChampionshipIn 2015 I moved to Australia and joined the Red Bull Holden Racing team as a Data and Performance Engineer. The highlight was 2017 when our car driven by 7 times Champion Jamie Whincup won the championship.
Stepping up to chief race engineer in 2022 I lead Triple Eight's Wildcard at Bathurst with Craig Lowndes achieving the best Wildcard result in Bathurst 1000 history. In 2023 I was looking for a new challenge joining a much younger , smaller Supercars Team PremiAir Racing. In less than a year the car I was engineering achieved its maiden Pole Position at the Triple Crown Darwin in 2024, followed by the teams' first ever podium at the Sandown 500. |
Becoming an engineerI was born in the same little town in Germany as Gottlieb Daimler who invented the first automobile and raised in the same region as Bertha Benz, the first person to drive an automobile over a long distance. It wasn't that obvious to me but the connection to cars and the automotive has always been there.
I didn't see myself being an engineer until I did my first internship at the Daimler AG. Only then I got fascinated by the new technologies and automotive world. The "Fascination Motorsport" is what got me into racing but the results of hard work and perseverance made it my passion. |
